VaDeb - thank you! :D never even looked for a census of 1890 until recently... what a loss... only about 6100 of the census sheets remain...

If we had the exact death date, it would help.

in last days, I council to Rose friend an search request about Iole Bocchi in some Common probable of birth...
WELL: The Fivizzano Common (Massa Carrara province) have replied to ROSE and this is date of birth act:
Bocchi Iole Rosina Luisa
daughter of P. Giovanni Bocchi & Maria Pellegrina Viaggi,
born in Fivizzano the 11 Gennaio (January) 1885 to 14.00 hour..
Perahps with this info about first name of Giovanni( really: P. Giovanni Bocchi) are possible to search also the ship's manifest....

Hi mfjp: are possible to obtain this manifest?

I did see a manifest of a Giovanni who was going back to the USA (this Giovanni made a few trips) to be with his nephew Michele in San Fransisco... I think I should go back to the other side of the USA....

Well mfjp, this Giovanni in 1910 is not our Giovanni, why died in 1893!!
