Immigration or marriage record

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Leah,

We'd be happy to help you locate records for you other ancestors. Let us know what you need.

Biff
PS We've been in touch before through Ancestry regarding your Pallotta line.

Leah and I share a line via the Pallotta family. My wife's aunt married one of Pietrangelo's grandsons. This is what I have on my tree.

Pietrangelo Pallotta's 1890 manifest, line 81
age 40 or 46, year of birth 1850 or 1844
Last residence, Guardiaregia, Campobasso, Molise

Pietrangelo died in Manhattan, NYC on 3 Sep 1909, Cert# 26380

Wife Carmela/Carmellina Pietraroia's 1897 manifest, line 3
age 48, born about 1859
Last residence Guardiaregia
Destination NYC to join husband Pietro

Carminella died in Manhattan, NYC on 1 Aug 1914, Cert# 23247

Pietrangelo and Carminella's son Francesco Pallotta married Vincenza D'Andrea, born about 1885, in Manhattan on 26 Dec 1901, Marriage License# 787

In the US, Vincenza took Jenny as her American name. We're trying to find out where in Italy Vincenza was born, and who her parents were. I believe her parents were Carmine D'Andrea and Maria Marano.

Leah, it is still possible to go back further if records for Guardiaregia are available online or via microfilm. The other possibility would be to write for Pietrangelo and Carmela/Carmellina's birth and marriage records.

I posted Calogero and Concetta's birth acts above for reference. We'll see if we can find their parents' marriage acts since it appears for the fathers' birth acts are not online.
