Yes, it's a secret wedding, celebrated on April 23rd, 1861, by permission of the Archbishop of Palermo, based on a "Bolla, Satis vobis" by Benedict XIV.
The Bolla probably establishes conditions under which a secret marriage can be celebrated without publications.

Thanks once again Pippo. Have also located Cosima's death record. Reported October 1909. Residing in Lercara. I have not found a remarriage as yet. Still looking for information on Margherita Petta. So far have not found anything as yet.
