Talamello WWI Veteran Ghirardelli Lorenzo

Post by iolanda2 »

My greatgrand father was Lorenzo Ghirardelli, he was born 1814 - 1824, near San Leo.

There is a WWI Italian soldier named Lorenzo Ghirardelli on the war heros plaque in the Citty of Talamello.

Do you know how I might find out if there is any connection between the two Lorenzos?

Visited Talamello during february 2009. The ufficio anagrafe is very helpful.

Also the priest at the catholic church is very helpful in Talamello.
I have some pictures, if you would like I can send you a link to my website.

Stayed in Novafeltria, which prior to Mussolini, was called Mercatino Marecchia. My Mother was actually born in Mercatino. Just past Talamello, are 2 small Borgota where my grandparents and great-grandparents lived ( Montefotogno and Legnanone )
The church nearest Montefotgno did not have a Baptisimal font, therefore, all the new babies were toted up the hill to San Leo.

For a period of years in the late 1800's, Novafeltria was joined with Talamello.
