Dronchi

Post by COSME4680 »

I can't believe all the information that you have given my son, Anthony (meatballeyes) about my father-in-law, Thomas Dronchi. I recently acquired documents and would like to know the correct names of his parents. According to some records,(all in Italian) his father was Giuseppe Dronchi and his mother was ????Chiandella, Francesca or Chiaritell Francesca from Reggio Calabria. I also would like to know if there were any other siplings? Some of the documents read BRONCHI and others Dronchi???? I almost positive that the surname was DRONCHI as his father's name is spelled DRONCHI I have these records CASELLARIO GIUDIZIALE, dated 1920, Municipio di Reggio Calabria, CERTIFICATO di ATTO di ????. There'S a name in that space but it is undisquishable. That is dated 1920.There is also something from the Am. Consulate. RINNOVAZIONE, MODIFICZIONI e VIDIMAZION DATED 1921, A passport dated, ???? AND HIS NAME IS SPELLED BRONCHI, TOMMASA
You have been so helpful to Anthony and I thank you.

Hi,
Dronchi exist not in Italy, you know...
on the ship's manifest the surname is Bronchi... and the ship's manifest was made by passports, and the passport is a very important and precise document; it was made by original birth document... no possibility of error.... I believe that the surname changing was in USA... as so for many italians...
you can show us the document that you have??
Regards,
suanj

Hi suanj,

Thank you for this info. I will show you the document but I have to wait until my son comes home as I don't know how to scan. If possible, maybe you or others in the group, can find info on Giuseppe Agostino Belcastro Born 2 Dec 1879, Reggio Calabrai died Apr 1963. Married to Maria Rosa Lombardo. I have the 1920 & 1930 census. I'm trying to find Giuseppe Agostino's parents. As the story goes, his father was a wealthy businessman. His mother was a maid in the mansion. They fell in love and of course because of the class distinction, they could not get married. She became pregnant and died in child birth. Becastro's father brought him to an orphange where he lived until 14 then he ran awayand came to the states. Maria Rosa lived in Marina di Gioiosa Jorica. My mother, Giusseppina Belcastro was born in that village. My mother came over in 1910 with my grandmother. She was 8 mo. old. Thanks again, Rosemary Dronchi
