Petrarca and or Delvecchio

Post by AnnOliver »

Hello,

My Mother, Anna Delvecchio and Grandmother, Assunta
Petrarca were born in Castel Di Sangro. Assunta's Parents
were Emidio Petrarca and Nicoletta Capotosto. They had five
children, Luigi(?), Margherita, Lidia, Antonietta, and Assunta.

My Grandmother married Antonio Delvecchio and came to the
US with their children, Anna, Franco, and Lucio, in 1958.

Antonio's parents were Franceso and Tranquilla Delvecchio
from Pietransieri. Their children were Fernanda, Antonio, Italina,
and Giuseppe.

Do any of these names sound familiar?

I cannot find a passenger list from the ship they traveled because
they came to the US in 1958 from Naples to Ellis Island.

Some of the Petrarcas went to Sao Paolo, Brazil in the early 1900's.

I would love to hear from someone who knows a link.
thank you,
Annie,[/b]

You can find a record of their arrival in the USA by filing form 81 (ALL PASSENGER ARRIVALS USA). The form 81 ended in 1959 so if they came in 1958 there would be a record. Call the NYC NARA office at 212-401-1620 and ask for a staffer and see if they can give you a printout or give you the adviuce yhou need about filing the form 81. Next you can go to the Famuily History Library of the Mromon church near you and rent out the microfilm for the civil recvords for castel del Sangro (Aquila) covering all births, marriages and deaths from 1809 to 1880 I believe. Yoiu cazn rent the microfil, for about $3.00. Peter
