Randi,
If you'd like to mix a little history with genealogy, here's a pretty nice link which details the Battle of MonteCassino and includes photos and maps.

Hi lilperrozzi,
i just googled "perrozzi" and came across your posting hence the time delay !
My father Giuseppe Perrozzi was born in Colle San Magno in 1947. His parents were Antonio Perrozzi and Angela Adamo. I have been to Colle San Magno on numerous occasions and it's well worth a visit. Probably hasn't changed much since your ancestors left ! As far as I undertsood, most of the Perrozzi family worked the local mountains collecting fire wood. Out of my fathers family (10), 1 went to Switzerland, 1 to France, 4 to Ireland and the rest stayed in Italy.
As far as i know there is only 1 lineage of Perrozzi's to come from the Colle so we're most likely related.
lilperrozzi"]Hi, I just recently found your site, was wondering if anyone here might know how I can go about finding more info on my family. My great grandparents were Rocco and Benedetta(Ferrante) PERROZZI, what records I can find list them as from S. Magno Colle. My mother says that isn't correct but they are from Mouth Casino or somewhere Naples, "there was a Monestary that was bombed in WWII".
They came to the US in 1919 to the Lousiana area, but later moved to Chicago. They had 4 childern Magno, Italia, Peter, and Umberto (my grandfather).
Much thanks in advance for any help.

My name is Alice Ferrante. I have recently discovered that I have ancestors from Colle San Magno. My gggg-grandfather Antonio Ferrante was born in there in 1732 to Liberto Ferrante. Antonio's son Pasquale moved to Fontechiari, and the family stayed there until my grandparents came to the U.S. Since your great grandmother is a Ferrante from Colle San Magno, I wondered if you have any information on her family that you would be willing to share. I would really appreciate it! Thanks - Alice

Re: Looking for info on Perrozzi possibly from S. Magno Coll
Hello! I am looking at this forum with real interest-my great grandparents came to UK in 1903 from Colle San Magno, Scipioni Perrozzi and his wife Nicolina. We, their family, have lived in Yorkshire ever since they came to Sheffield after coming off the ship at Liverpool. We are a large family, all descended from Scipioni's and Nicolina's children- Vincent, Alexander, Paulo ( my grand dad), Rocca, Antonio and Michael. I am currently one of 3 Paul's in the family. Some of us went to live in Australia in the seventies but research into family trees and visiting Colle have shown we are all related from Perrozzi's who left there in the very early 1900's.
So-hello again distant cousin!
Yours
Paul Perrozzi
Ps- my sister has a large family tree passed down to her, feel free to contact me and let's see if we can shed further light on your questions, we have been in touch with the remaining Perrozzi's in Colle including one of us who was recently Mayor!
Best wishes

Re: Looking for info on Perrozzi possibly from S. Magno Colle
Hello... Magno was my Grandpa.
I am Michael Schwabe. My mother was Lorretta Perrozzi. I am named after my grandfather Magno Michael Perrozzi:
My grandfather (son of Rocco Perrozzi and Maria Benedetta Ferrante) was born 02 Dec 1915 in S. Magno Colle, Italy,
and died 23 Mar 1981 ... He was married to my Grandmother Ruth. They lived in Hanover Park IL for years.
He is dearly missed by everyone i knew that knew him. He had a barber shop in Chicago at one time. I have heard
alot about him. They say i have his volcano temper and some of his mannerisms. My mother was on of three
daughters he had (Marcia, Sandy and Lorretta.) I have heard about Great grandma Perrozzi. Hopw she would always
make the girls eat... Saying Marciaaaaa, you're too skinny... eaaat. haha

Been a good while since I have been here! Your picture Michael looks a lot like g-grandpa Rocco. I will see if I can find the few photos I have of him. I heard stories of the barber shop from my mom when I was much younger and spending time there.
The Ancestry has come a long way on our Italian roots if you are interested there are several Family Trees I found that follow Maria Benedetta Ferrante (Perrozzi) lineage. But still not much to be found about Rocco Perrozzi on his days before immigrating.

Hi I think that we might be cousins. My great grandparents were Rocco and Benadetta Perrozzi. My grandma was Edith Perrozzi , Rocco's daughter. I have Rocco's WWII papers but they are in Italian and I can't read them. I also have their passports and I think maybe other papers.
