surname Zumpichiatti or Brianese from Villorba, Treviso

Post by henriquezump »

I´m from a brazillian part of the Zumpichiatti family and I´m looking forward to obtain any info about my ancestors in Italy.

My family tree records, until I know, starts in Italy with Giuseppe Brianese and Angela Marchiori whose son Antonio 1 married Maria Romano on february 12 of 1883.
Their daugther Genoveva Brianese Zumpichiatti came to Brazil and gave birth to 8 children, one of them, my grandfather Antonio Zumpichatti.

Only one of Genoveva´s son, Anacleto Zumpichiatti is still alive, and lives here in Rio de Janeiro.

thanks for any kind of help

Have you tried to place them on a ship's manifest? The following site may help:

The right italian spelling is ZOMPICCHIATTI; Brianese is right; I know not if your Antonio Zumpichiatti( ZOMPICCHIATTI) came alone in Brasil or not; better: Genoveva( Genoveffa) came in Brasil, as wife or single? They married in Brasil?
However the surname ZOMPICCHIATTi is of Udine area and not Treviso area, so maybe he immigrated alone also and they married in Brasil...

Because the surname is very rare, I searched in Udine area and it are only 1 Antonio ZOMPICCHIATTI as probable record:
ZOMPICCHIATTI ANTONIO
Nato nel 1883 a PAVIA DI UDINE da ANTONIO e DENTESANO ANNA

born in 1883 in Pavia di Udine, son of Antonio and Anna Dentesano
Atti
IT/ASUD/LEVA/1883/E.001/UDN/P-753

Tratti Somatici
Statura: 160.5
Torace: 80
Capelli: BIONDI RICCI
Occhi: GRIGI
Dentatura: SANA
Colorito: ROSEO
Segni particolari:

Varianti dei nomi
1883 - ZOMPICCHIATTI ANTONIO (Prima visita di leva)

Professioni
1883 - CONTADINO (Prima visita di leva)

Luoghi
1883 - PAVIA DI UDINE (Prima visita di leva - Nascita)
1883 - PAVIA DI UDINE (Prima visita di leva - Residenza)
1883 - PAVIA DI UDINE (Prima visita di leva - Domicilio)

no marriage record, almost seeming not married in Italy... it could be your ancestor?

I´ve just spoke with my mother and she said that she remember her grandmother Genoveva( Genoveffa) saying somthing about Udine.
I thinks its right.
Nobody here knows if she got married here in Brasil or in Italy.

About Antonio, I think he can be on of my italian acenstors. Im going to check his date of birth in a document that I´ve just get from my mom.

thanx for all the help

The surname was spelled ZOMPICHIATTI for 8 persons arriving in Buenos Aires, Argentina but there are none for Brazil in the "radici" that Suanj directed you to go. =Peter=

The document xerox that I have here is very dificult to read becaouse of the handwritten letter.
As far as I can read says:

Cognome Nome Paternita Maternita Luoco della nascita
Brianese Enrico Giuseppe Angela Marchiori Lughignano

There´s an abreviation of Giuseppe´s surname and I´m not able to read it. Unfortunatly.

I got a paper with some note about this Angela Marchiori (born July 1824- dead 1880)
She´s Santo Marchiori and Paola Moretti´s daughter and I think, as far as Im able to understand this letter here, she was born in this city , Lughignano.
She married Giuseppe Brianese.Who I think had this other surname Zompicchiatt.

I´ll try to scan this document to show you all.

thanks one more time for the help

" so the Genoveva husband was Giuseppe Zompicchiatti?? "

No.

Sorry for the misinformation.
Actually, Genoveva is Giuseppe Brianese´s granddaughter.
The name Zumpichiatti ( Zompicchiatti) came from her husband, Rosan( Rosani???) Zompicchiatti.
They´re married in Brazil.

The problem is that Ã
