Nutrice location and description and obtaining records

Post by Brusatto »

Since first contacting your forum I have made great progress in locating info about my father, Joseph Brusatto, or as I have found his real name is Ascanio Esposito Brusati. He was raised by Stephano (aka Rosario) Celli and his wife Francesca Maria Durante Celli. It seems he may have been born in Nutrice, Italy and that Stephano may have come from there also.

Can you tell me about Nutrice and if it is possible to obtain records from there. Thanks for all of your help.

Peter, thank you for your response. I shall go back to my source and ask more questions. I have researched Nutrice on the web several times and it is now a huge rental villa, a remodeled bakery. I have made many assumptions about "Nutrice" being remnants of a farm in a small village. The web says it is part of a larger estate. My ancestors were farmers, and Nutrice is still a farm of sorts. The info I have says it is located in Bagno a Ripoli, Italy and is about 15 miles from Florence. I shall contact you again when and if I know more. Thanks, Joann
