Desar Cthomas there are no civil records on microfilm for tracing any civil records in Sestre Levante so you will have to do it by mail thruj the Uffico Di Stato Civile in Sestre Levante byt working backward from the USA thru the port of entry then into Italy where you file a request for birth, marriage or detah record. Doi you have any information as to the who what where when of your immigrants ancestor arrival in he USA?? Peter

Thank you!
Elena Lambruschini was my gggrandmother. At age 40 she was returning to California from a visit home to her Italian relatives. The ship and info help!
I can't seem to find where she came over originally, although it was in 1860 after she married Luigi. He came over in the 1850's, made $30,000 in mining gold in CA, and return to Italy for a young bride.
I also can't locate many CA relatives. I know Elena went to SanFrancisco often to visit family members.
Thank you all for your help.

" I can't seem tol find out where she came over originally"....What does that mean? Do you wish to know where she landed in the USA in 1860 or what town in Italy she is from?? Peter

Sorry, Peter, I guess I wasn't very clear.
I can't find any record of where and when Elena Lambruschini Trabucco came into New York in 1860 after she married. I have heard that at some point they went around the Horn into San Francisco, so maybe they took the long ship ride at that time.
I know she came from Sestre Levante. Her 3 story building where the family made pasta for several generations is still standing on Aprille Street. I've been there; what fun!

File form 81 with NARA (USA national archives) for all passenger arrivals, all ports USA 1820-1959. Go to www.nara.gov and selkect immigration and then order forms. I will search website for san francisco travel via NYC and will let you know if I come across anything. Peter
