I fratelli MORI in Romania

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

I fratelli MORI in Romania

Post by fghillani »

=Peter=

I contacted the Romanian genealogist by e-mail asking her to read your inquiry to the other website I recommended under Romania so that she can also help with your inquiry. As soon as I hear from her I hope you will have also put your inquiry in this other forum as well. =Peter=

My name is Federico Ghillani, Italian citizens, and ask if you can get any news related to a relative of mine who emigrated from Italy in the early ‘900; his name is Alberto Mori, son of Anthony and Angela Salvarani, born in Montechiarugolo (Parma, Italy) in 1874, who came first in Romania, probably to Iassy where is buried his older brother Serafino, but following his arrival he has again moved without leaving nothing more.

Through valuable suggestions and guidance of an experienced genealogist as Suanj, my attention is now attracted by a certain Albert ( "Albin" until 1910) Mori, of Italian origin, occupation miner, born in 1873 who said he emigrated since 1904. Married to Anna Badura, born in Radíkov (Moravia, Czechoslovakia) in 1880 and landed in New York by ship Kaiser Wilhelm II April 6, 1904 from Bremen to go to Staten Island (NY) at her relative Emmanuel Badura. In 1905 was born the couple's first child Joseph Mori.
The family resides in 1910 in North Union, Fayette County (Pennsylvania), while in 1920 it is instead living in Springhill, Fayette County (Pennsylvania), while there are more than Joseph (15 years) even siblings Anna (13 years) Pauline (12 years) Earnest (10 years) and Angelina (5 years).
The wife, Anna Badura, died in 1928, and in 1930 Albert Mori has 57 years of age and stay always at Springhill, and is alone. Later he married Helen M. Geer, born March 3, 1900 and who has two daughters that likely to change their surname to Morey.
Daughter of Albert, Pauline Mori, married a certain Edgar Zones and will live in Cleveland, Ohio, and with her younger sister also will be living Angelina and brother Earnest. Earnest Mori will be married in August 15, 1936 with Virgil L. Keown, from which in 1944 will have his son Donald P. Mori.
Albert Mori died in 1940 and his burial is in Brich Curch Cementery of Fayette.

Obviously I have no security he is my relative, but the coincidence of the dates and his reticence as to the place of birth lead me to assume this probably is him.
Can you help me to have any info from his actual relatives or by documents in your archives?

Federico,
Is the nuovo cognome di Pauline Mori, Zones? or Jones? I know there is non lettera J in the Italian alphabet.

they were living in Fairmont - WV -

Ringrazio vivamente tutti dell'aiuto!!!

Grazie ancora!
