S.S. Rex passenger list

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

S.S. Rex passenger list

Post by sbookie »

I am trying to find my father-in-law as a passenger on the S.S. Rex. He was probably going to Italy from America with his family somewhere between 1933-1935. His name was Elvino Marangoni and he would have been traveling with his father Guerino Marangoni, mother Adelade (or Cesira) Brunaccioni Marangoni, sister Maria and brother Anibale. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Passport information may hold the information you seek, but records available are for arrivals into the USA, not departures.

Thank you. Unfortunately, my F-I-L did not have an old passport. He actually remembered coming TO the US on the Rex (he returned when he was 17 yrs old) but he actually came on the Roma. That made me think that he probably went back to Italy on the Rex.

I do have Elvino coming back on the Roma, that is definitely him. However, his father Guerrino never came back to the US after he went back to Italy. He was born in 1890 and died in Pesaro, Le Marche, in 1961. Cesira or Adelade, Elvino's mother, did come over at least once after WWII. I can't find her either..... When the family came over originally they sailed into Boston on the SS Cretic in 1920.

it is the first page of Marangoni family in 1920 trip:
http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/8476 ... angoni.jpg
the birth place of Guerino is Montelabbate ( mother: Annunziata); Cesira (daughter of Cleto Brunaccioni) and Maria was born in Forlì. Last residence of family: Mombarroccio; I found only the 1938 trip of Elvino, but alone....

Thank you Suanj....I did not know what M. Barroccio was, so now I have somewhere else to research. I just wish I could find Cesira's trip back to the US after WWII. She stayed with Elvino and his family for a few months and then got mad and went back to Pesaro. She is buried there as Adelade.
