Peter --

Incidentally...how can your status possibly be 'newbie'.. I found that vastly amusing considering your 4000+ posts..

Peter..

While I realize that I noticed on the few forum's I do frequent, the status changes.. and you were the first on the list that I can see. Your status should be something like "Expert liasion of the Board" or something.

Hi Amy, I am gathering up some info for you... and am now wondering why you called Pasquale "Pap"..

Any reason why "Pap"?? Will explain why I ask later.

Looks like Louisa and Pasquale came over to the US at different times. On a 1910 census it says that they were both married once.

You did not mention which Salerno. If you go to the place search database at the left of the home page, do a search of Salerno... and you will get 3 different areas.
ARENA PO (Pavia) SALERNO
SALERNO (Salerno)
CELICO (Cosenza) SALERNO

Any idea as to what area?
Get back to you soon.

mfjp--

Mary Louise Delaro did come over at a different time, but as I know it they were both from Salerno..

My cousin has a page that has some of the info.. but this is all I've got:

Delaro? Deleo? Delero?, Maria Luisa (Mary Louise)
Birth : 6 JAN 1879 Salerno,Italy
Death : 5 NOV 1941 Pennsylvania

Marriage: 26 AUG 1899 in Uniontown,Fayette County,Pennsylvania
Spouse:

Lucia, Pasquale "Pap"
Birth : 27 FEB 1868 Salerno,Italy
Death : 10 JAN 1966 Ohio

So -- According to that they were both in PA in 1899 at least.

Salerno is as far as I got, JUST Salerno, I have no idea.

The 'Pap' was I am guessing his nickname?

Thanks for anything you can get..

There are 5 Mirabello towns in Italy and alll of them in the North of Italy so since Salerno is in the south of Italy, how canyou justify the data? peter

My Cousin Russell has obviously been digging around too, I just found some of his posts in another forum.. Emailing him next to see what he has in concrete.

Seems that http://www.EllisIsland.org has my GGrandfather Pasquale Lucia, age 24, arriving May 26, 1892 aboard the S.S. Waesland, and that his residence was listed as Mirabello.

Here is the link to my Lucia list: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Esta ... html#lucia
