Nipote can be either grandchild or nephew/niece. Are you looking at the Register of the Population you got from me?
1868 birth records have to be ordered from the town.

So what would the address be ? I want to know her birth details before deciding to continue either on my own or with help from someone like yourself.

I think you need to write your request in Italian and send some form of ID but DONT send bank notes. I received certificates from the comune in Atina and I wasnt charged for them. If you cant write Italian then if you post what you want to say I'm sure someone will transcribe it into Italian for you
Hope this helps

Emmy is right. Atina doesn't charge for certificates but an addressed envelope is always a good idea along with a copy of your photo ID.

hi,
some of my relatives are from atina. The Family Hisory Center, part of LDS has microfilmed civil records 1810-1865. You can go to their website to find a Local History Center near you and order the microfilms you need. They will access their database and show you what is available. Births, marriages and deaths and which years are on what films. I don't know Italian but i am now able to find the father's name and the baby's name and i also use google translator to help me.
good luck,
linda

Atina no longer has records from 1809 - 1865 so if you are searching this period you need to use the LDS microfilms or request copies from the State Archives in Caserta.
