Desio or DeSio - looking for family info in Naples region

I'm trying to find my family information. My grandfather Joseph Desio moved to the US in the late 1800's or possibly very early 1900's. I cannot seem to find any information about him. From what I've seen on the EllisIsland.org site, the name could also be DeSio. The information I have is sketchy.

Name: Joseph Desio, Jr.
Born: 9-29-1894 in what my aunt said is a town called Dejon or something sounding like that. I've also heard Naples.
Parents: Marie Santora & John Desio

Again, this information is all sketchy!

The above is from the social security index. I realize the year is off by one year, but possibly this is your ancestor. If you think it might be, it costs $27 to get his application for his social security card. That should have his parents' names on it, as well as his place of birth.

One question for you-you say that Joseph was a Junior which means that his first name should then be the same as his father's, yet you say his father's first name was John.

where did Joseph reside in the U.S.? have you gathered any census records for him and his family, as you might get an immigration date from one of those records.

also, did he marry and do you know the name of his spouse?

You are correct. I am trying to follow what my mother typed and now that you've pointed it out, it doesn't make sense! The way I am figuring it now, my dad is the Jr. So, the updated info would be:

Joseph Desio with the parents John and Marie.

My great grandmother was listed as Antonio instead of Antonia and a male on her manifest, so don't let that throw you.
