Pucillo and del Viscovo familes in Grottaminarda

Post by cutterlm »

Looking for any information on ny great great grandfather, Luigi Pucillo, born about 1865. and his wife Caterina del Viscovo, born about 1859 in Grottaminarda, Italy.

They came to the United States with their children Rocco (my great grandpa, born around 1891) Giuseppe, Francesco, Ferdinando, and maybe some others.

Anyone who knows of this family, please share any information that you have!

Yes, they settled in Boston. The sons eventually opened a bakery in Boston's North End.

Thanks for the welcome!

The dates are off on this manifest, but take a look to see if it is a possibility.

Hello Laurel :-) (Hi mj :-D )

Here is a possible 1910 Census for Luigi and family.
The transcription was for "Luize Parillo"... :-(
They are living in Boston, MA
Luigi 53
Caterina 47
Rocco 19
Giuseppe 15
Frank 10
Eliza 6
and a boarder
Raniero Pucillo 22

Date of immigration for Luigi is 1900 here (matches your manifest, mj :-) )
Children were born in Italy, except Eliza who was born in Massachusetts.

The image is a bit fuzzy, and the family is about 1/2 way down the page...

Hey T!
I checked the Boston arrivals on ancestry w/o success
Since he was only 10 yrs old it may be interesting to see who he travelled with and under what surname

Thanks, Tessa! That is definitely my greadt grandfather. He married a woman named Emma Delacy - a triple Mayflower descendant. I actually have the hard copy of her naturalization papers (she had lost her citizenship when she married Rocco, and had to reapply later) but not anything of his. Thank you, for this and for your other research.
