Italian American History Month

As a nation state, Italy has emerged only in 1871. Until then the country was politically divided into a large number of independant cities, provinces and islands. The currently available evidences point out to a dominant Etruscan, Greek and Roman cultural influence on today's Italians.

I know you aren't into "modern" music, but you might like Jovanotti, by far the best Italian musician in my book. Check out a te jovanotti video ufficiale http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSea1YPxK1c
a song written to his newborn baby girl, it was a big hit in Italia. :)

Ciao Forza,
maybe you already know them, but if you like "A te" by Lorenzo, you might enjoy these also, by Tiromancino:

Ignore the very first part, it's an ADV, the song starts imediately after.

And the last, with a funny video with a famous showgirl and a comedy actor.

And then one of my last favourite, Mario Biondi. He sings principally in English, great voice. DeFilippis might enjoy him also, since he has got something of the 60's swing in his style:

ForzaItaliaPgh wrote:Anybody know that there is an Italian American history month? And guess when it is... October. Odd how you'd never know from watching TV. Even the History Channel can't seem to be bothered to recognize it. Seems like some other official history months get a lot more attention. Oh well, what did someone from Italy ever do that was important here in America... it's not like an Italian discovered America or anything :)

Anyone else annoyed by this or am I alone here?
yeah that is very annoying! for halloween i dressed up in all green white and red in honor of it! :D I feel like people are ignorant and don't realize all that Italians have accomplished and done in our American history. Italians discovered the mystery of our solar system and created the first telescopr thanks to Galilee.
