Missing link

Post by nickintexas »

I've found a wealth of info pre/post this generation...just can't quite make a connection. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Known:
Carmine Andreola + Filomena Simone had
Giovanni (March 27 1883)
Michele (Aug. 6 1888)
Antoinetta (unk)
Giuseppina (unk)
All in Casalvecchio Di Puglia (Foggia)

Assuming Carmine & Filomena were also born in Casalvecchio Di Puglia circa 1855-65....can anyone get any hits on any databases on who their parents are?

Thanks
My past is all behind me now.
Looking for Andreola, Fino, Simone, Rossacci & Capece primarily from Casalvecchio di Puglia.

So Carmine and Filomena may not have immigrated, but we know that Giovanni immigrated (since he was married in Massachusetts) :-)

Do you know if any other children immigrated?

You may want to write directly to the comune of Casalvecchio di Puglia to request birth and marriage records...

Address:
Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Via Fabio Filzi, 66
71030 Casalvecchio di Puglia (FG)
ITALY

Write your request in Italian, and provide as much information about Carmine and Filomena as you can (approx. dates of birth, approx. date of marriage, names of children)
Help to write letters in Italian...

Could the Antoinetta above be "Annantonia" ?

Found a manifest for Giovanni Andreola, 24, from Foggia, arriving March 1907, and going to his sister Annantonia in Milford, MA

He is 11 lines from the bottom (the line numbers are not visible)

We just traveled to Mass. and spent time with my Aunt Toni (she's the eldest child listed in that 1930 census). What a memory she has! I got so much info from her 8)

Hi Nick,

You are lucky that you have found so much information online! As for Italian records, not as much available in online databases.

While waiting for a reply to your letter to the comune, you might want to visit your nearest LDS Family History Center and order/rent the microfilms for Casalvecchio di Puglia.

FHC has civil regisitrations for the comune microfilmed from 1809-1929.
This includes births, marriages, deaths, etc. These are films of the original records in Italian.
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library ... +Casalvecc++

You will need to visit the FHC to order, then return to view films when they come in.

To find the nearest Family History Center, enter your zip code on this site.
