Forte - Macari Mortale/Casalattico

Post by katforte »

Hi

I'm trying to find more information about my Great Grand parents Angelo Forte born Mortale 1867 and died Belfast Ireland 1935 and Maria Macari born Mortale 1878 and died Belfast 1973. I have census records from Ireland but don't know any history pre 1891 where Angelo appears in Rochdale with 2 brothers Antonio (birth 1871) and possibly Augani (birth 1869). The next record is from Ireland 1901 where he's married to Maria recorded as Mary and then in 1911 they have children Nancy aged 10, Congetta aged 7, Felice aged 1. My grandfather Leo (Olimpio) Forte was born 1918 and died whilst visiting family in Italy in 1951.

If anyone has any idea of possible Great Great grand parents names or can give anymore infomation I'd be most greatfull.

Cheers

Kat

You will need to get copies of the records after 1880 from Casalattico to go further on this search and check the microfilms at the Mormon History Centre for records before 1879.

Hello, I have a Rosa Forte in my family tree. I have found a 1901 census in Renfrewshire, Scotland showing the following people:

Antonio Marsella 45
Civita Marsella 35
Angela Marsella 17
Gretro Marsella 11
Beneditto Marsella 7
Louis Aprile 16
Angelo Forte 35
Rosa Forte 24
Giacrno Forte 20
Gacifico Forte 42
Giovanno Borza 24
Beneditto Macari 23

Being there a Macari its possible it could be Maria's sibling, also the Rosa matches my date of birth, so could be possible siblings too?

I also have Macari's from Liverpool and Belfast connections!

Hi

You might like to have a look at these sites.

Paul Forte has a huge amount of information on the Forte family.
http://fortefamilyhistory.com/Family_Tree.html

And this one has records from Casalattico which may not be useful right now, given the dates of birth for your GGGrandparents, but could be in the future.

Hi Kat,

I'm the Paul Forte, referred to by Ursula above, and I have a lot of information that I know would be of interest to you. I can trace Angelo Forte's ancestors back to the late 1600s so you must get in touch. Either contact me via my website www.fortefamilyhistory.com or directly by email on paul.forte@btinternet.com

Look forward to hearing from you.
