DiNuccio Family

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Thanks, suanj!!!!

Found another manifest for Maria DiFilippo traveling with son Antonio, age 3, born in USA!
Arriving Boston 1913 (year after Giacomo)
Leaving Father-in-law Antonio DiNuccio in Bellona
Destination - husband Giacomo DiNuccio in Boston, MA

Probably brought their "first born son" to see his namesake in Bellona. Wonder if Antonio and Rosa ever immigrated?

The numbers by Maria's name seem to be a "Certificate of Arrival" notation. Looks like she may have started the naturalization process.

Just for everyone's information...

This is why we sometimes can't find manifests - look at the spelling of the names here... especially Giacomo DiNuccio's name in the "friend/destination" line. WOW

Amazing....my great grandparents list the following as their parents:
Gaetano DI FILIPPO father Carlo DI FILIPPO and Mother Maria AURILIO

Maria DI NUCCIO father Pietro DI NUCCIO and mother Orsola ADDELIO

Anything else you can find further back is greatly appreciated.

Thank you both for your work.

At this point, you may wish to write directly to Bellona to request the records (birth, marriage, death - but not all in the same request :-) ).

Address:
Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Piazza Pietro Villano
81041 Bellona (CE)
ITALY

You will need to write your letter in Italian. Use the following links to Italian form letters...
http://www.circolocalabrese.org/resourc ... civile.asp
http://www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwi ... talrecords

Do not send money unless you are contacted by the comune (town) and are requested to do so...
For each document you request, include as much information about the person/event as you can. For instance, for a birth...include approx. date of birth, names of parents if you know them.

I notied your ancestors lived on Bow Street in Everett MA... .my great grandmother's twin sister Clementina (d'AMATO") SPANO (b 1882 Bellona) lived on 138 Bow Street accoring to the 1930 census === wondering if any names sound familiar
