Looking for Angelo, Giovanni & Luigi Rinaldi

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Looking for Angelo, Giovanni & Luigi Rinaldi

Post by grinaldi »

My grandfather Antonio Rinaldi emigrated with 3 brothers to Yonkers, in the early 1900s. Attached is the ship's manifest. I believe that they either settled in Yonkers, NY or the Bronx. I am seeking information on their descendants.

I have a copy of the manifest listing all 4 names.

Hello and welcome! :-)

What is the date of arrival of the ship...so we can establish DOB for the brothers?

Do you have US Census records, etc? This can help to identify spouses/children.

Possible NYC marriage of Angelo Rinaldi and Maria "Bonacci" (this is the same last name as the boarder who is living with them in 1920)..

At this site:
www.italiangen.org

Bonacci Maria Jun 10 1909 Manhattan 11550
Rinaldi Angelo Jun 10 1909 Manhattan 11550

You can request this marriage record which will have the name of the parents and the place of birth. Good source if you don't already know the names of parents of the brothers.
From this site:

Thank you for all of the information. I have only what's on the manifest. I think that the numbers next to the names are their ages.

How wld I verify any of this information - to know that any are the brothers to Antiono Rinaldi?

I happened to run across your request for information when I entered the name Luigi Rinaldi in a Google search. Some items are consistent with those for my grandfather on my mothers side. However I am not familiar with the names of the brothers you have listed. Perhaps just another Luigi Rinaldi of the same name. However, the Luigi Rinaldi that I knew, was born February 2, 1883 in Fisciano Italy. He lived in Brooklyn, New York until his death in 1963. He came permanently into the United States on March 13, 1914 though he had been here previously (initially in 1901), went back to Italy to marry and return with his wife. He had two brothers (Domenico and Francesco) and a sister (Domenica). I would be curious about the ship manifest that you mentioned but I do not see it with your posting.
