Bevilacqua/Preservati/Perini/Talarico

Post by Primaitaliana »

Hi Im looking for info on my great grandfather Giuseppe Bevilacqua. He was born around 1886. He immigrated to American around 1912 from Savelli, Italy which is in Calabria. I have his naturalization papers he filled out but never got a chance to send in. It says he came in through the port of Boston and it asked who he would be staying with and he replyed his brother in law, last name Sacco. So Giuseppe had a sister who married a Sacco in Mass. and I have no idea what her name is. Giuseppe ended up settling in West Virginia. I was told by my great uncle they used to go visit his sister Theresa in Norwood, WV who married a man with the last name Priest. My uncle also said they would visit a brother in law in Norwood, WV named John Rocco and a cousin in Wheeling, WV named Sam Bevilacqua. Also Giuseppe's parents names were Giovanni Bevilacqua & Domenica Talarico Bevilacqua.

Im also looking for info on my great grandparents Prospero Preservati & Angelina Perini Preservati. Prospero was born in Vigolzone, Italy & Angelina was born in Gropparello, Italy. They both resided in Framingham, Massachusetts after coming to America & had a number of children one of which being my grandfather Geno. I have found many Preservati's in America but I have searched for Preservati's in Italy several times & I cant find a single person with this last name. I have a strong feeling that when my great grandpa came to America thru Ellis Island that they screwed up the spelling of his last name. Also looking for more info on the Perini's, all I know is that my great grandma came to America thru Ellis Island with her sister Adelaide. Any info on the Bevilacqua's/Preservati's/Perini"s/Talarioco's wold be greatly appreciated

Yes this is him. Family secret is that my grandpa had a wife in Italy & when he came to America he met my great grandma Retta & they got married. I know the wifes name in Italy was filomena and its ironic b/c Retta and Giuseppe name one of their children Philomena. Rose as they spelled it Bevilacks, lol, is my grandma. I wonder if Nicola is the Sacco brother n law?

This John Rocca is very interesting. The only problem is the brides last name should be Bevilacqua, unless like it says grooms status divorced & he remarried my great aunt? Where did you find this info from?

For the Prospero PRESERVATI Birth Date: 15 Apr 1882 there is a film from FHL on Comune di Vigolzone you could go through it and see if Prospero was born there and the name spelling.

We are doing genealogy research on the family of Luigi and Maria Perini from the village of Castellana di Gropparello,Piacenza,Italy. They had a daughter Elena Perini who was born in the same village in 1899 and came to the US (Boston, MA via NYC) in 1920. She married Emilio Speroni in Milford MA, 1922. If this is the Elena Perini you are looking for I can supply more information. Luigi
