Incoronata Cipriano FRIGENTO

Post by dmurphy1940 »

I am looking for ancestors for my paternal grandfather's second wife born 25 April 1887 in Frigento, Incoronata Cipriano. Her mother may be Angela, I am looking for her spouse, parents, siblings and grandparents. She settled in the Boston area June 1916.

What was Incoronata's married name?
That may help us to find US records that give clues...

Incoronata married my grandfather Donato Montecalvo most likely shortly after her arrival in the U.S. She came to care for Donato's children as his wife, my grandmother, Guissepina Ciampa had died in 1915/1916.

Is this the family in 1930 on Pearl St. in Chelsea, MA?

Donato's children - Rosie and George?
Children with Grace (Incoronata?) - Anne, Josephine, Michael, Genevieve?

Possible manifest for Donato Montecalvo :-)

Donato (abbreviated Dto) Antonio Montecalvo, 26, married from Frigento
Arriving Boston, MA on SS Giulia on May 22, 1905
Going to his god-father Francesco Ruggiero, 15 Cleveland Pl, Boston, MA

On the line above Donato, also from Frigento, is Nicola Montecalvo, 33, married, going to his brother-in-law Antonio Ruggiero, 14 Cooper St., Boston, MA .... Maybe a connection?

Does the name "Ruggiero" seem familiar?

I have Donato coming over in 1907, that may have been given to me by my cousin though. Ruggiero does not sound familiar but Cleveland Place does. And Nicola is not a name I've heard of before...............

Do you have a ship manifest for Donato in 1907? Or was that from family stories?

His daughters (according to the 1920 US Census) arrived in 1906, but I can't locate them on a manifest... Maybe Donato went back and brought them and Giuseppa back with him. I can't locate a manifest for her either :-(

I think it was a family story. I never could find out much about Mary, Clara and Guissepina either. My understanding is that all the females had the first name of Maria and went by their middle name, again, I don't know how true this is.

There is a Family Tree on Ancestry.com for Clara Montecalvo, born Avellino, Italy 1906, died Boston, MA 1935. She was married to Charles Anderson, and looks like she had 2 children, Walter Anderson who died in 1999, and another, unnamed in the tree, still living. Parents of Clara are listed as Donato Montecalvo and Josephina. The owner of the Family Tree is listed as carolanderson86.
