I am coming across this construction a few times in regards to Atti di Nacita from Avigliano in the early 1870s
...a comparso Donantonio fu Pietro di anni...
Any suggestion? I'm not running across this in any of my books.
Thanks!
Donatantonio fu Pietro?
Re: Donatantonio fu Pietro?
appeared Donantonio, the son of deceased Pietro, of years (meaning the age of Donantonio)
Re: Donatantonio fu Pietro?
in a birth record, normally it is the father of the infant who appears before the town official to present the infant and report its birth. If the father is away from the town at the time of the birth, then you will see a midwife reporting the birth and presenting the infant instead of him.
