Searching for surname Tiscia/Tisci from Foggia

My grandfather was from Foggia. He was called James in the U.S. I don't know what his first name was in Italy. Was born circa 1896, and was married to Maria, I believe. I will look for her last name.

Normally James is Vincenzo italian first name; I found a Vincenzo Tiscia but married at Filomena D'Anello( or surname with similar spelling; both coming from Sannicandro Garganico- Foggia province) and living in in Stamford CT;

Although many Vincenzo changed their name to James when they were in the US, the Italian equivalent for James is Giacomo.

No, Valerie, they are not mine. I am pretty clear now that the name was Tiscia. There was some question as to whether it was changed from Tisci, but that does not appear to be the case.

I was unsure if it was Tiscia or Tisci. My maiden name was Tiscia, and apparently that was my grandfather name, as well. It would make sense that his name was Vincenzo, since my father was named Vincent & everyone called him Jim. Thanks for solving that mystery!

My grandfather Tiscia and his wife lived in Scranton, PA. Their first child, Marguerite was born in Italy, around 1914.

I think I would recognize my grandmother's maiden name if I see it, but I can not recall it.

Vincent J. Tiscia, of Medford, N.J., formerly of West Scranton, died Sunday at home. His wife, the former Marie Zenobio, died in 1986.
Born in Scranton, son of the late John Tisci and Mary Lentino Tisci Pentasuglia, he attended Mother Cabrini School. Before retirement, he was employed as a sewing machine mechanic in the local garment industry.
Surviving are ...; a sister, Margaret Simone, Floral Park, N.Y...
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank Tisci, and a sister, Genevieve Scombordi.
A blessing service will be conducted Thursday at 930 a.m. in the Patrick Guido Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Ave. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m.
