Italian Ethiopia

As a nation state, Italy has emerged only in 1871. Until then the country was politically divided into a large number of independant cities, provinces and islands. The currently available evidences point out to a dominant Etruscan, Greek and Roman cultural influence on today's Italians.

Italian Ethiopia

Post by CLamb »

I would like to learn more about Ethiopia during the Italian occupation. Was there any attempt to convert the Ethiopians to Roman Catholicism? Did the Italians convert any Ethiopian Orthodox sanctuaries for their own use? I know the Italians sent home historic artifacts but were there any serious attempts to study Ethiopian archaeology? If anyone would recommend any books or articles I would be most appreciative.
