Marriage Record Translation Help
Cam someone help with the translation of the marriage record attached? There appears to be a date at the beginning of the record(September 3, 1799) and one at the end of the record(July 22, 1799). Which one is the actual marriage date? Also, does the record give any indication as to where the groom, Joseph, may be from? What is the "Mag" before Joseph and Vincenzo's name? Thanks in advance for all your help.

1799 september 8th
Giuseppe Sciambica son of (master) Vincenzo and Maria Spallino from Bisbona (Bivona)
Maria Geraci son of the late Francesco and Vincenza Conte of that parish

Re: Marriage Record Translation Help
I believe the date is the one at the top. The July date seems to be one of the dates that the bans were posted in the church. As you can see it also references 22 July in the record.

Thanks everyone.
Is the date September 8 or September 3. Do I not see a 3 in the date? Am I misreading something?
Also, does the master signify that he was a teacher? Does it relate to him being a master in his trade?

Re: Marriage Record Translation Help
I'm not sure what the 3 is for but the date is definitely 8 Sept. The word "die" is Latin for day so it is "Die 8 7bris" or 8th day of Sept.

Il 3 sta per "Indizione terza" ( http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indizione )
