Looking for more inforamtion on Guiseppe Solari?

Post by stewey75 »

Here is some of the information I have but I'm looking for his parents and his birthdate and death year. Did Guiseppe and Maria have any other children besides Quilico?

* Guiseppe Solari - Italy
* Married to Maria (Last name Unknown)
* Maria abt 1830 in Genoa, Italy
* Had a child Quilico Solari in 1866 (immigrated to Amesbury, Massachusetts)

You're welcome and you're lucky because the site (payment) Ancestry.com has online the civil registrations for the town of Casarza Ligure since they started on 1866 until 1910 (1937 for the deaths)

this is the birth act for a sister of Quilico who died at nine months...

Birth act number 76 - Year 1868

Solari Luigia was born on 11 october 1868, daughter of Giuseppe Solari, age 46 farmer, and of Maria Massucco his wife.

image:
http://postimage.org/image/35kwmsqzo/

and

Death act number 39 - Year 1869

Solari Luigia, age 9 months died on 16 july 1869, she was daughter of Giuseppe Solari and of Maria Massucco.

The Civil State Office of Casarza Ligure is very collaborative (my grandfather is born there and they gave me his birth act in a few days, ok I'm here in Italy but I know that the ladies at the desk are very kind and efficient with everybody), having Giuseppe Solari correct birth date and place you should have written to them asking for Quilico's birth act.. (I found your old message from 3 years ago... )

In the marriage database I believe I found a brother :!: of Quilico, who married on 1884:

Marriage Act number 9 - Year 1884:

Groom: Solari Giuseppe, age 27, single, farmer, born and resident in Casarza Ligure son of the living Giuseppe Solari and of the living Maria Massucco

Bride: Solari Teresa, single, age 19, farmer, born and resident in Casarza Ligure daughter of the living Quilico and of the living Maria Stagnaro both resident in Casarza Ligure

Marriage date: 26 july 1884

then I checked the "Allegati di matrimonio" database and found Giuseppe Solari (Quilico's brother) baptism act :!:

Baptism act for Giuseppe Solari
Solari Giuseppe was baptized in the parish church of San Michele Arcangelo in Casarza Ligure on the day 21 june 1857 at 11 a.m.. He was born on 16 june 1857 at 4 a.m. in Casarza Ligure, son of Giuseppe Solari son of the late Giuseppe, occupation farmer and of Maria Massucco daughter of the living Giovanni Battista, occupation farmer.
Godfather was Solari Giuseppe son of the late Andrea and godmother was Solari Maria (maiden name Stagnaro)

Thank you Laura! Yes, I wrote to Casarza for Quilico and regarding my other grandmother's side but I didn't get a response so I'm not sure if they didnt' understand my translation to Italian or if they were too busy. I was also looking for Casassa and Paganussi side.

I still can't believe Quilico had a sister! I wish my grandfather and uncle were here to tell them about all this history about their family. did you know Quilico came over to Amesbury, Massachusetts and started a Solari Fruit Company! We have his first plate that has the picture of the building and name and the building still has "solari" engraved on the building! :)

You're very welcome Tammy!! I'm pleased that I was able to help you in your research and more happy because I'm from the same area

I sent an e-mail message to the Comune of Casarza asking for my grandfather's birth act and after 15 days I did a phone call asking if there were problems, the lady was very kind, she told me that the e-mail address I used was no longer in use and asked me the dates apologizing for the inconvenient ... after one day she called me on my cell-phone and told me that the document was ready! I live near and I went there by person...

Maybe the translation of your request was not too clear?

However,. You have solved now :D

I noticed that Quilico on 1906 brought her mother Maria in the U.S.... it was for a pleasure visit I believe, why she didn't stay?...

I most likely sent it to the wrong email address because everyone who I have dealt with from Italy has been soo sweet about helping me in my search! Hmmm..not sure why she wouldn't have stayed in the US. That is pretty interesting..you might think if her son had a business over here that she would want to stay and help..but hey, if I came from Italy I would go back.it is to beautiful! :)

I do have another question regarding the Casassa's and Paganussi's. should I start a new topic? :) You've been so helpful that I have to ask if you dont' mind! :) On a good note, I found my grandfather's family all the way back to 1500's in Picardi france! :)
