2 1/2 months until my appt! Whats needed?

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

2 1/2 months until my appt! Whats needed?

Post by DeFilippis78 »

Im using Philly and am wondering what documents need apostille seals. I always get conflicting info. Is it direct ONLY? Is it only BC and DC or is MC required too?

And what needs translations....just me and my kids docs.?

I recommend going through the posts here:

http://italiancitizenship.freeforums.or ... s-f17.html

and looking for those specific to your consulate.

Also, you may want to start at the last page for each topic you're interested in as that will be the most recent information for a consulate. You'll see what I'm talking about when you start going through the posts.

They dont have much info on Philly on that website. I guess not that many people submit their info to them from Philly. What I did see is:

1 mention of NON direct NOT being needed
No mention apostille seals needed ( I guess no submissions)
1 mention of translations, saying applicant only (and Im assuming children as well)

Here are the requirements from the Philly consulate. They are pretty specific.

For some reason it doesnt mention you need the birth certificates of your children or your own marriage certificate. I wonder why.

Ciao Alicia,

How have you been? Can't believe your only a couple months to the big day! I have apostilles for everything except the naturalization doc. Its been so long, I can't remember if I was told by Philly to do that or if I did everything just to be extra careful, but that is what I'm running with.

Good Luck.

I don't remember how long the apostille process was, but translations should be out and back within a week or so, depending on the translator. The longest wait is always for the naturalization docs, that took me 8 months!

Alicia, do bring in your marriage certificate and the birth certificates of your minor children. Since your children are minors, you are applying for them as well as for yourself. You will need this documentation. In bocca al lupo!
