Post by crernst1111 »

I am searching for:
Pascuale Cafro and Rose Russo Cafro, from Naples.
Pascuale was born 3-27-64, died 5-4-1948 in Bloomfield, CT, USA
Rose was born 8-30-1867, I don't know if she was born in naples or not, but she died 11-15-1947 in Bloomfield, CT, USA.

I believe that this is the right ship's manifest abt Rosa and children:

Francesco male age 5 (aka Frank Joseph in USA)
Aniello male infant ( aka Edward Amiel in USA)

all coming from Nocera Superiore, and joining at Pasquale Cafro (Cafaro) in Hartford, CT:

First Name: Rosina
Last Name: Rossi

Last Place of Residence: Nocera Supesia ( Nocera Superiore)
Date of Arrival: Aug 26, 1897

about Pasquale Cafaro

I know that in 1910 census Pasquale is alien, but also I am positive that this naturalization record is abt your ancestor....

This is definitely the right family, I had a feeling the name was Cafaro prior to emigration. Is there any information regarding Pascuale and Rose's parents or lineage in Salerno and Nocera Supecia? That is the info I'm looking for. Thank you.

the town is NOCERA SUPERIORE (right spelling); and it are no online possibilities for to know abt the parents of Pasquale and Rosa...
but because you have the birthdates, you can request the birth certificates, so you can know the parent's names, writing a regular mail to:
Ufficio di Stato Civile
Via Matteotti 15
84015 Nocera Superiore (SA)
Italy

or writing a email to:
comune @ pec.nocera-superiore.it

NO SPACES PLEASE
email subject: Ufficio di Stato Civile-Richiesta Certificati

To be able to send an email to the above address you need to have an email address certified by the Italian government "Posta elettronica Certificata (PEC)".

I tried to find a regular email address for Nocera Inferiore but I was unsuccessful.

I can probably just send it by regular mail... I take it that a yahoo.com email account is not officially a certified mail route in Italy now.
