Marciano Montecalvo
I am trying to research Marciano Montecalvo who came to the U.S. 12 April 1909 on the Romanic, he was born about 1892 and I believe his mother was Antonia, however I can't seem to locate a manifest or any information. I am wondering if he should belong on my family tree. Thank you.

Thank you, but I already have that Marciano, my father's cousin (and my father is Marciano also!). This Marciano I am looking for is a different Marciano.

Re: Marciano Montecalvo
Hello,
I have spent some time looking at the records, thank you!!! Some writing I found harder to decipher but my question is do you think Guiseppa and this Marciano are brother and sister? And how did you determing that they left Antonia behind in Frigento?
Thanks a million!

Re: Marciano Montecalvo
Yes, I do believe they were brother and sister.
On each manifest, sheet 1, look at column 11 - "The name and complete address of nearest relative or friend in country whence alien came". Both say "Mother - Antonia" and "Frigento"
Also, I did not notice earlier, but on Marciano's manifest, the name directly below his on line 7 is Nicola Montecalvo, who left behind his wife Augustina, also in Frigento.
We can see that Marciano would seem to be Nicola's nephew, because in column 18 on sheet 2, Marciano reports that he is coming to visit his uncle while Nicola is visiting his brother; in both cases, the person is Montecalvo Donato" (pretty sure it is Donato). We also see, in column 17, that Nicola has been in the US previously (1904 - 1906, I think).

Re: Marciano Montecalvo
Thank you for your detective abilities. This will certainly help because Donato Montecalvo is my paternal grandfather..........Also, is it possible that Nicola's wife is Angelina as opposed to Augustina, as that is the info that I have on my tree.............
