General Posting Question/Approval time frame

Post by jpotokar »

Hello Forum,

I joined the forum this afternoon, and several hours ago, I uploaded my first post, inquiring about my great grandfather's surname. When i hit the "submit" button, i saw a notice that said my new topic would have to be approved before it was seen in the forum.

I just logged back on, and 3 hours later, it still isnt approved or on the forum. Just curious if all new posts take this length of time to be approved and uploaded? Or is this an unusual length of time?

Thanks much.

Hi Jeff, welcome to the ItalianGenealogy Forum.

Only the Moderators are able to approve postings which is mostly done a few times a day but sometimes it can take more than 12 hours.

Currently only the first posting of a new member needs to be approved. This is done to protect the forum against spammers. Once a posting is approved new postings will be shown immediately.
