Information on Antonino Abramo

Post by MikeIAbramo »

Searching for information on Antonino Abramo born about 1850 in (Tripi)Messina, Sicily.

He married Guiseppe Bucolo about 1870. They had two sons Michele and Joseph/Guiseppi.

Michele immergrated to the USA in 1903

Joseph immergrated to Argentina (1895 - 1905) I believe.

Any information would be helpful.

Thanks

The correct spelling is Giuseppa.
I don't understand why Giuseppe and Giuseppa are constantly misspelled in US, and this makes me mad!

Did Antonino and Giuseppa have a second son Joseph? I had been told by my grandfather that he had a brother who immergrated to Argentina.
I know he received letters from him.

Thanks for all you time and help

Here is the birth record for Michele's brother - VINCENZO

Record #64 (right side of page)
Dated 2 June 1884...
Born 1 June 1884 to Antonino Abramo, 36; and Giuseppa Bucolo, 30
At 8:30 AM

This may be the "Vincenzo Abramo" age 19 who was traveling with Michele to America. See the ship manifest above.
ALSO - they were going to their "brother-in-law" Vincenzo Palermo...so it would seem that Michele and Vincenzo have a sister perhaps?

Thanks for the additional information on Antonino Abramo.
1. Is there any record of what happened to Carmela and Francesca? Did they die during childhood?
2. Is there any way to get an English extract of the birth certificates? My Italian is not very good.

Thanks again for all the information.

Thanks to everyone for your help and information you provided. Since I can not read Italian very well, searching all these records is very difficult. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Is there any additional information on Michele and Carmela(Bucolo) Abramo, their marriage date, any other children, Also maybe their parents.

I would like to trace my family history as far back as possible.

I know I am asking alot, so any information provided is appreciated.

Thanks

The records you need are not available online...

However, you can go to your nearest LDS Family History Center to rent and view the civil registrations from Tripi on microfilm. There are births, marriages and deaths on firm from 1826 - 1910
https://familysearch.org/search/catalog ... m%2F575321

You can familiarize yourself with the format of the records, but you will find that it is simpler just to look at the names. Once you have records, you can post them here at the forum for translation.

Good companion book for familiarizing yourself with records:
A Genealogist's Guide to Discovering Your Italian Ancestors (Genealogist's Guides to Discovering Your Ancestor...) by Lynn Nelson
