Hello. My name is Frank Piraino and my grandmother’s name is Maria Buttitta and she is from Bagheria. She was married to my grandfather, Francesco Piraino. I am trying to locate her birth certificate so I can use it to become and Italian citizen and emigrate to Sicily. She was born in 1892 in Bagheria or somewhere very nearby. She emigrated to Chicago, USA in 1906. I have enclosed a copy of her death certificate and the passenger list for the ship she emigrated to the US on listing her place of residence as Bagheria. If you could please help me locate the place of her birth and refer me to the source of her birth certificate so I can obtain a copy of it I would be very, very grateful!

Ciao. Mi chiamo Frank Piraino ed il nome di mia nonna è Maria Buttitta ed è da Bagheria. È stata sposata a mio nonno, Francesco Piraino. Provo a localizzare il suo certificato di nascita dunque posso usarlo per diventare ed il cittadino italiano ed emigra a Sicilia. Era nata in 1892 in Bagheria o in qualche luogo molto vicino. È emigrato a Chicago, USA in 1906. Ho incluso una copia del suo atto di decesso e l'elenco di passeggero per la nave che è emigrato agli Stati Uniti su elencare il suo luogo di residenza come Bagheria. Se lei potrebbe aiutarmi per favore localizza il luogo della sua nascita e mi riferisce alla fonte del suo certificato di nascita dunque posso ottenere una copia di esso sarei molto, molto grato!

Welcome to the website What I would do is make sure the birth record is in Bagheria,Palermo I would spend the $7.00 here in the USA
There are plently of civil records from Bagheria,Palermo on microfilm at the Family History Libraries and verify that she was born there and copy the birth act and send the copy to Bagheria with your letter explaining you are filing for Italian citzenship and you need a l’estratto completo dell’atto di nascita (complete extract of the birth) this way there is no doubt of getting the extract from the Comune di Bagheria
