my grandmother name was gandolfa iannitelli and resided in ny. the reason why i am starting on this search is because my daughter came home with a project of doing a code of arms. all i know is about my italian heritage is she came from polizzi,sicily and resided in ny in the 1950's. need to know the origin and the meaning of the name iannitelli

On a family tree (incomplete) on Ancestry.com, it appears that your grandmother's maiden name was DOLCE, and she married an IANNITELLI.
She was born in Polizzi Generosa, Palermo, Sicily in 1906.
Her parents are listed as: Domenico Dolce and Lucia Messineo
The patron saint of Polizzi Generosa is St. Gandolfo
