Giobatta Domenico Olivari

Post by Alan Oliver »

My grandfather, Giobatta Domenico Olivari, was born in Camogli Italy in 1860. He was a sailor and went to Cape Town South Africa where he married. Hi parents were Giacomo Olivari and Pellegrina Gafforo.
I would like to know more about his parents and what they did for a living.
I would also like to know of their ancestors as well as their descendants.

The LDS Family History Center nearest you has microfilmed records for Camogli, Genoa, Italy. The records only cover years 1866 - 1929, but should give you information about Giobatta's parents if you find their death acts (morti). You might also find siblings. You can rent the films and view them yourself - actual civil registrations of births, marriages and deaths - they are in Italian but you should be able to read the names.
