My grandfather, Giobatta Domenico Olivari, was born in Camogli Italy in 1860. He was a sailor and went to Cape Town South Africa where he married. Hi parents were Giacomo Olivari and Pellegrina Gafforo.
I would like to know more about his parents and what they did for a living.
I would also like to know of their ancestors as well as their descendants.

Giobatta Domenico Olivari
Re: Giobatta Domenico Olivari
The LDS Family History Center nearest you has microfilmed records for Camogli, Genoa, Italy. The records only cover years 1866 - 1929, but should give you information about Giobatta's parents if you find their death acts (morti). You might also find siblings. You can rent the films and view them yourself - actual civil registrations of births, marriages and deaths - they are in Italian but you should be able to read the names.Alan Oliver wrote:My grandfather, Giobatta Domenico Olivari, was born in Camogli Italy in 1860.
