Surname: Del Vecchio-Venafro, Campobasso

Post by paularp »

I am looking for information on Mark Del Vecchio from Venafro, Campobasso. He is the uncle of my grandmother, Rosaria Del Vecchio Pieri. He immigrated to the US in the late 1800's and settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he was well-known in the Italian-American community. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Sincerely,

Paula Pringle

Hello Paula!

1900 Census for the same person...
On this record, Mark is a tailor. The family below his, at the same address, is Vito A. Delvecchio, and he is also a tailor. Judging by the years of birth (Mark - 1841; Vito - 1869) I think it is a good guess that they are father and son. :-)
I do not see Mark's wife on the census.

Thank you so much "Tessa78". I am specifically trying to find the connection between 4 individuals: Filomeno Del Vecchio, Mark Del Vecchio, Vito Del Vecchio and Tomas Del Vecchio. I know they are all related and I know the parents of Filomeno are: Vito A. Del Vecchio and Alessandra Pesce, but I have yet to figure out the connection between the 4 men, whether or not they are cousins, sons or uncles to one another. Once I find that link, I can put the puzzle pieces together. Thanks for your information. If you have any further information, please pass it along.

You're very welcome, Paula! :-)

In case you don't have this record... POSSIBLY your Vito?

about Del Vecchio, Vito A. "fu" Marco (this means "son of deceased Marco")
This shows that Vito A. Del Vecchio was the son of Marco Del Vecchio
It shows his initiation date of April 16, 1916, at age 47 (birth about 1869)
It indicates that his wife Alice is deceased (Feb. 14, 1925)
And that Vito died December 13, 1940

Thank you so much for all your information. It is most helpful.
Somehow, and I'm not sure how, I obtained a partial Certificate of Death for Vito A. Del Vecchio, Sr. It is supposed to be 2 pages, and I seem to have only the first page, which is lacking the vital information I need, which would be on page 2. Is there any way to get a copy of the full Certificate of Death or page 2? The Cert. # 230315, dated 1/4/41, registered # 24954, #3660, for Vito A. Del Vecchio, Sr. 924 E. Passayunk Ave. Phila., Pa.
I would greatly appreciate any help you could offer.

Thank you, Paula Pringle

my great grandfather was Filomeno Del Vecchio. I do know he had a brother Marco who had a son Vito as well. I do have a great deal of information I am working on gathering from my dad and my aunt. I just have to go through all the paperwork. it was in a burplap sack in my Nana's thing. My dad is Rudolph Di Lorenzo who is the son of Rudolph Sr. and Angelina Galliano. Rudolph's dad was Aristodemo (Ernest) Di Lorenzo married to Adell(a) Del Vecchio who was the daughter of Filomeno and Maria Guiseppa Pesce. I figure I could give you my branch to help you with your search. Let me know if you find any thing else out. I am hoping there is something in this pile of papers..some of it is in Italian which is not easy..my dad is all Italian so I have to figure out which is which and separate them first into each branch.
