Looking for Family with Surname of Centrella/Mangina/Mancini

Post by Inky777 »

IF THIS DOUBLE POSTS, SORRY, HAVING TROUBLE GETTING THE BOARD TO TAKE MY POST...

Hi folks,

New here, hi...

Trying to find more about my wife's family...

Her Grandma's people are the Centrella's from Montemiletto, Italy...Her Great Grandfather was Antonio Centrella, born in 1885, died in 1939...he died in Essex Co, New Jersey...buried in Glendale Cemetery...
His wife was Anna Olievero, came from Montemiletto as well...born 1892...

My wife, Dawn, would like to possibly find their parents/grandparents...and also, she knows Antonio and Anna left family behind...so is it possible to know if any relations are still around over there?

Now on her Grandfather's side, her Grandfather was Frank J Mancini...his father was Francesco Mangini(a)...believe they were from Salerno, Italy...
On a 1900 Census, Manhattan, NY, you see Francesco listed with kids Tomaso, Joseph, John (Dawn's Great Uncles) and an Antonetta(born in Dec 1896)...Frank J was born in 1905...
There was never mention of Antonetta in the family and she'd like to know about her if possible...is that possible?

Thank you for ANY help in this...

You may also write directly to the comunes (towns) to request a birth or marriage record :-)

Address for Montemiletto, Avellino:

Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Via Roma, 2
83038 Montemiletto (AV)
ITALY

For the Centrella family, Salerno is both a town and province. You will need to find out exactly were they were born to request the records. :-)

For now, you can try writing to Sala Consilina, as Marty found on the manifest :-)

Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Via Matteotti
84036 Sala Consilina (SA)
ITALY

Thank you for what you've found...we have seen the 1900 census but not too much else...

Now this name of Giuseppe Mangini, this is a new one...see, we knew of Francesco and Maria and the kids but not this Giuseppe...

Nothing on Antonetta? Still a tough one...
