Looking for Perrotta's in the Harrisburg PA area?

Post by sophia357 »

I am Sandra Perrotta, living in Camp Hill, PA. I am originally from Lowellville Ohio, close to New Castle, PA. I am looking for any information about relatives in Central PA or how to find connections in Italy. My family is from Caserta Campania region? I would love to connect with people as there are no Perrotta's left in my original area.

yes, I have moved since I originally posted. I am trying to find people in this area. I have no living relatives actually at all that I know of on the Perrotta side. So...I am trying to search some. I will go further with the search from what you have already given. That was very helpful but I can see that because there were only 3 children born to all the siblings of my father, one is dead and the other I know is in columbus Ohio. It would have to try to be cousins from maybe my grandmothers side.

Yes! I remember Zia Marguerite! I used to visit her as a child. What is my next step to look for relatives of hers..children maybe? And Antonio? Should I post something. I am new to how to go further now. I would REALLY like to see if I can trace some children possibly of theirs..or their children who may be age? Can you suggest what to do next?

Thank you so much for helping me.

Sandra,

Do you know which Margherita is correct?

Margherita born abt 1864 married to Gabriele Cunti
and/or

Margherita born abt 1882 married to whom?

Next step would be to find siblings Antonio and Margherita on the most recent census (1940 or 1930). Then identify their children.

Usually an obituary would be a great resource for finding family

Hi, I'm hoping you are still searching on possibly still check this site. We possibly could be related. I'm in from New Castle and know my family roots came from that area. I can give a possible explanation for you having a hard time finding relations. I know the Perrotta family name got changed during the Great Depression. Italians were not looked upon favorably at that time period. What I was told that was my last name was chopped from Perrotta to Parrott when my great, great grandfather was in search of work. I believe there are three different spellings that I am personally related to. I have personally been to Antonio Perrotta's grave stone and have a picture of it, because I was told that was my great, great, grandfather and my name is Anthony.
