Help translating birth record

Post by gemellua »

I new to translating records, so your help would be greatly appreciated.
I came across a birth record which caught my eye.

The births in this town Sciara (Sicily) were announced by the men.

This particular birth 1876 (Anna Andolina) seems to have been
announced by a woman - Paola ....? I cannot make out the last name
(would like to know it) Am I wrong?

Mother is Francesca Paola Randazzo, daughter of Rosario?
Also, it looks like the father of this child is Filippo Andolina. Would
like to know if I am correct in this.

Because this record appears different from the others I have scanned,
I'm wondering if this child was born out of wedlock or if her father
died before her birth.

Thank you!

Mother is Francesca Paola Randazzo, daughter of Rosario Yes, but Rosario is deceased. Francesca is 33, a farmer, wife of Filippo Andolina, age 41, a farmer. They both reside in Sciara
Also, it looks like the father of this child is Filippo Andolina. Would

died before her birth. No, this is a regular birth record. The record states that the father could not make the presentation because he is sick in bed.

Thank you!
Hope this helps...

Thank you Tessa78 and amerital43! I hope with the more records I look through, I will also be able to read all the details such as "the father being sick in bed!"

From the handwritten part at the end of the record..."perchè ammalato a letto" [because he was sick in bed]

:-D
