Rigi
Hello to everybody,
In some documents i saw the lastname Rigi. People said that it is a italian name. Can anybody confirm this to me? i cannot find anything about it. The name of the person is Dominga Rigi married to Francisco Chevalier around 1.777 in Spain.
Regards,
José

Re: Rigi
It is found in Italy, although rare. As to it's origins, Suanj would know more.

Re: Rigi
Riggi would be a more typical Italian spelling.keizersdream wrote:Hello to everybody,

And Dominga would be a very unusual Italian given name. Domenica would be more typical in Italy.
Re: Rigi
In Italy are many spelling of similar surname: De Rigo; Rigo; Righi; Riggi(2 g)....is most probable an italian surname.....Rigi(1 g) also is an mountain of Italy... personally I think that is RIGGI most popular in Sicily......regards, suanj

Re: Rigi (Arrigue?)
To continue this request: i read in a last will of a french ancestor about his wife Maria Dominga, who has to be a Italian woman. In this last will they wrote down Arrigue. and not Riggi or Rigge.
Is Arrigue a italian last name?
Thanks for your reply.
