Looking for Pennsylvania Naturalization Records

Post by mianzo »

I would appreciate any help finding the Petition for Naturalization paper work or other naturalization information on my great grandfather. I am looking for specifics on his date of birth, immigration, hometown in Italy, and my great grandmother’s maiden name.

His name was Frank D’Agostino and he was born in Italy in or around 1853. He immigrated in either 1896, 1897 or 1898 (three census years all have different dates)

He lived in Armstrong County Pennsylvania in and around the old mining town of Johnetta, PA.

His wife’s name was Mary and his children were Peter, James, Anna, and Anthony.

All I have at this time is the census data and a few marriage documents of children.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanx

I suggest you contact the Armstrong County Historical Society. The society may be able to help you with naturalization records.

My GGF was from Mercer, Pa and I was able to get a copy of his naturalization papers from the courhouse. The Mercer County Historical Society was also very helpful. Good Luck!

I think in PA it depends on the year, in the early 1900s it switched from the county to the state.
