Pagura Surname, Castions di Zoppola

Post by pagura »

Hello everyone. I'm an Argentinian with strong italian roots and I will aprecciate any help regaring my genealogy.
This is the little I know about my ancestors:

Grandfather: Pietro Pagura (Pedro Pagura in Argentina)
He was born in Castions di Zoppola, Friuli Venezia Giuli, in 1905.
He emigrated to Argentina between both wars.

Great Grandfather: Antonio Pagura (I don't know exactly the italian translation)

I will search more in the next days and try to keep this post updated. Any help will be great!

Diego, from Argentina

Hi there,

There isn't any microfilm for the town of Castions di Zoppola, so you will have to write directly to the town for any Birth, Marriage, and Death Acts of your ancestors.

Here is the address where to write.

Ufficio Stato Civile
Comune di Castions di Zoppola
Via Roman 14
33080 Castions Di Zoppola PN

Here is link that will help you translate your letter into Italian.

Here is the official website.

Here is a link to Ellis Island with a list of Pagura's coming to the USA.

The link below might help you find when your ancestors arrived. You have to register, but it's free. Click on the words "Find Your Roots", create a user name and password and then you can search for Brazil and Argentina

Hi Diego,

Did you have any success tracking down info on your family?

My grandfather was also from Zoppola and born around 1905. His name was Giovanni Batista Pagura, and emigrated to the US in 1922.

(Thanks for the great info Trish)
