Looking for the last names Bellissimi and Bova

Post by Bellissima54 »

Hello,
My great grandmother's name was Angela Bellissimi. She came to New York from Naples on the ship, Caledonia,
in 1896. She was 21 when she came over and settled in Buffalo, New York. She married Frank Bova, who had
also come from Italy in the 1890's. I would love to know where Angela, or Angelina, was from. Where did her family live in Italy? I would also like to know where Frank Bova was from. They both left from Naples to get to New York but maybe not at the same time. Also on the Caledonia manifest with Angela was Felippo Bellissimi,
29, and Domonico Bellissimi, 42. Angela had six children with Frank Bova, one of whom was my grandfather.
If anyone has any idea of what area/city/town in Italy Angela and Frank came from I would very much appreciate it.
Thank you,
Elizabetta in Virginia

Hi! I'm Kim Panos and my great grandmother was Louise Bova, one of Frank and Angelina's daughters, your grandfathers sister. I have been working on my family tree and I'm also trying to find out more information about Angelina and Frank. I was wondering if you had any more information about their families I'm Italy or the families here in America. I know a lot of the Bova's are in Virginia but I don't have any other information on. If you have any information that would be great! Thanks!
