Hi
I am looking for information on my GG Grandmother. I currently do not have much information to go on and am not sure where to look.
Her name is Norma Marea/Maria Antonelli, I am told whe was born in Italy.
She emigrated to New Zealand, unsure of date except she had a child in New Zealand in 1896 so it would have been prior to that.
She married Patrick John Quirk in 1904 in New Zealand.
She died in 1958 aged 84, meaning she was born around 1874.
I woud be grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction or give any info. Ideally I would like to get her birth certificate but realise that maybe a long way off.
Thanks

Re: Looking for information on Norma Marea Antonelli
There are so many avenues you can use to search..................
have you found the birth certificate/record for the child born in 1896?
Have you obtained the marriage record for 1904?
Have you found her death record for 1958 (probably not, b/c it's too current)?
Have you found anything for her husband (marriage/death, etc)?
Do you know where she was buried? Or, if she attended a church?
Are there accessible immigration records for New Zealand??
There are so many places you might find clues..............you never know how you'll wind your way back to Italy and the very record you'd like to find.
Good luck......I know this is intimidating, but it's the nature of genealogy-hunting!
And, with persistence and patience, you might just find what you're looking for!

I do not have the certificate, but have have found the entry in the NZ Births/Deaths/Marriages Online which indicates that year.elmosgirl wrote:There are so many avenues you can use to search..................

I have ordered this since the original post, and I believe it will indicate where she was born, and number of years in NZ, if applicable.Have you obtained the marriage record for 1904?
Only the reference to it on NZ BDM online.Have you found her death record for 1958 (probably not, b/c it's too current)?
I have found search references on NZ BDM online for his marriage and death.Have you found anything for her husband (marriage/death, etc)?
Since the original post, I found she is buried in Opotiki which matches up with what I know and the information given in the post further down. I have a photo of the gravestone of her and her husband.Do you know where she was buried? Or, if she attended a church?
Not sure on this, anyone else know? Are there accessible immigration records for New Zealand??
Thanks, as I have mentioned I have got a bit further since making the original post. Once I have the marriage certificate I will have more to go on, including whther she was born in NZ or Italy. There are so many places you might find clues..............you never know how you'll wind your way back to Italy and the very record you'd like to find.

The earlier information I was not aware of and the latter matches up with what I know.
Were there any intermediary records or only those two?
