Residency - British Foreigners vs. USA Dual Citizens

Post by jennabet »

Due to language restrictions, I can fully understand why newly recognized Italian-American dual citizens seek out British foreigners living in Italy for advice on tax info and obtaining Italian residency. But to do so is usually a big mistake as the residency/tax rules in Italy for British foreigners do not apply to American citizens or Italian citizens. Do yourselve's a favor and wait until you actually arrive in Italy to get the proper procedures from local authorities. If you must have this information ahead of time, try to find Italian-American dual citizens in Italy that can steer you in the right direction.
