Morpurgo - Venice

Post by Nouki »

Hello,
I have been working on my genealogy for some time now and it appears I have ancestors from Venice, Italy.
The things is, I don't know how or where to look for further information (without paying loads of money and/or waiting for ages).

I am looking for more info on:
Samaria (Semaria) Jacob (?) Mozes MORPURGO.
Born around 1756 in Venice.

Can anybody find some more info on his birth and parents?
Death, wife and children (1), I know already.
He moved to Amsterdam (NL) (with his father?) during his younger years and married Hana NORSA.

Thank you so much in advance :)

I found this reference for the Morpurgo lastname on this italian site:

http://www.cognomiitaliani.org/cognomi/ ... 0011or.htm

MORPURGO

Do you know Semaria Morpurgo's father's name?

fond another little reference here:

His fathers name is probably Jacob or Moses / Moses.
Thank you!

Thus far no new information found.
But did find something interesting.
It might as well be that Semaria was born in Gradisca (not Venice) and his father was Isach (Isaac?) Gabriel Vita Morpurgo, born 1730 @ Gradisca.

So now I did like to find some (official) proof that Isach/Gabriel was his father and maybe some more specifics about his birth.

I nhave researched SEMARIA and HANNA NORSA's family as well, as I come direct from them. My side of the family moved to UK in c 1895. Which child of Semarias are you from.
I went to Amsterdam some years ago and have records of most of WW2 victims which I would be happy to share
