I just sent you another pm.

Also it would be a good idea to post a summary on the forum, in case anyone else comes across related info.

Erudita
I have just replied to your pm.

My thinking too regarding the summary. It is currently a "work in progress!" It just needs some tweaking and I will post soon. Catalina's two sons are similar aged to my father. Who knows, they might just have children, who just might come across this forum one day and be able to fill in the gaps. Wouldn't that be GREAT. :)

FRANCESCO DE MILITA - SUMMARY TO DATE PART I

Post by AngelaGrace56 »

The estimates are within these bracket types: ().

Francesco De Milita was Italian born in (Saponara di Grumento, Potenza, Italy) in (1856). His parents were Carlo De Milita (1817-1892) and Caterina Alberti (1813-1879). He died as a result of typhoid fever and was buried in the Catholic cemetery on 21 April 1890 in Santé Fe Argentina. The parish: Catedral Todos los Santos.

Italian Record Index 1: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... 1211340491
Original Record - Argentina: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/V6PF-SJD

We don’t know when or why Francesco journeyed from Italy to Argentina, the route he took, what brought him there or what his occupation may have been.

We have searched the following websites:

http://www.cemla.com/busqueda.php#
https://sites.google.com/site/barcosdeagnelli/Listado

which lists passengers to Argentina for the years 1882-1960. We used a range of dates, variations to the surname etc but there does not appear to be a record there for Francesco. We can assume then that he may have travelled before 1882 or maybe went to another country first.

(PART II IS ON ITS WAY. I'VE HAD TO BREAK THIS UP BECAUSE I'VE WRITTEN TOO MUCH) :)

FRANCESCO DE MILITA - SUMMARY TO DATE PART II

Post by AngelaGrace56 »

Francesco had a daughter named Catalina who married Domingo Sanz on 28 November 1914 in the parish of Nuestra Senora del Carmen, Santé Fe, Argentina. Catalina’s recorded age is (25) and Domingo’s record age is (28).

Domingo and Catalina’s Marriage Record: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/V6PJ-N7P
Original Record: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... :596990054

Catalina’s mother’s name is recorded as Luisa N.... Apart from finding Luisa’s possible Death Record we know very little about Luisa:

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/V6PX-52F
Original Record: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... 1804965053

We know from Catalina’s birth record that Luisa was a native of Argentina. Luisa’s possible death record says: “that she was without affiliation and other information (in other words, her parents were unknown and any other information about her was also unknown)”. Luisa was buried in the Catholic cemetery of the city of Santa Fe, 4 August 1888. The Parish: Catedral Todos los Santos. We have been unable to locate a marriage record for Francesco and Luisa.

We don’t have Catalina’s birth or baptism records but we understand that she would have been born by 1888. [The online baptism records for the parish of Nuestra Senora del Carmen currently only start in 1889 and Catalina’s name did not appear in the baptism indices for the Catedral Todos los Santos for the relevant years.]

Watch this space for Part III. :)

FRANCESCO DE MILITA - SUMMARY TO DATE PART III

Post by AngelaGrace56 »

We know that Catalina De Milita and Domingo Sanz had a son named LEOPOLDO RAFAEL SANZ who was born on April 4, 1917 and baptised on April 16, 1917 at Nuestra Senora del Carmen, Santé Fe, Argentina.

https://familysearch.org/search/record/ ... ame%3Asanz~

and that she also married ANDRES GARCIA on October 27, 1917, so her first husband Domingo must have died (between August 1916 and April 1917 some time). To date we have not been able to find Domingo’s death record. There are currently no relevant online death records to search.

Marriage record for Catalina De Milita to Andres Garcia on Oct 27, 1917:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... :596990054

Catalina and Andres Garcia had a son ANDRES C GARCIA born on November 2, 1919 and baptised November 7, 1919 in the parish of Nuestra Senora del Carmen, Santé Fe, Argentina.

Original Record: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... :472430021

So we have a few gaps still and probably a few more that I have omitted to highlight here in this summary. If anyone chances upon this forum in the future and has any information which they wish to add about Francesco De Milita or his family in either Italy or Argentina, or anything else related, please do, it would be very much appreciated.

Erudita, if I have misinterpreted anything or made any typos with dates please feel free to edit. I would appreciate the back up and thank you so much again for everything. You are INCREDIBLE and an incredible asset to this site. A GIFT. :D

V: I am just bumping this thread for you in case you haven't seen it. If we can establish that the parents of Dr Vincenzo De Milita who died in Venezuela were Carlo De Milita and Caterina Raffaela Alberti, then this Francesco De Milita here would be Dr Vincenzo's younger brother.

Kind regards
Angela
