Carlentini or Riccia

Post by scraig32 »

I have just recently found my gg grandfather Michael Sarnese on Ancestry. I have found many documents on him. His WWII draft registration card shows that he was born in Carlendino, Italy. I assume this is Carlentini, Italy. However, with a Master's help, a registration form for Sons was found and he lists his place of birth as Riccia,Italy. Could you take a look at both documents and see what you think his place of birth is or if you can shed any light on this. I know that both documents are in fact the same man because of his wife and address. Thank you in advance.

My suggestion would be to write directly to each of the two comunes to request a birth record for Michele Sarnese :-)
These two locations are quite a distance apart

Address:
Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Via B. Zaburri, 3
86016 Riccia (CB)
ITALY

Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Piazza Diaz
96013 Carlentini (SR)

Hello again!

I think you also might consider the town of CARLANTINO
This is in the province of Foggia, adjacent to the province of Campobasso - which is the province in which the town of RICCIA is located...

If you have no recollection of family stories that indicate they were from Sicily, then this town is probably their town of origin...

Address:
Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Corso Europa, 242
71030 Carlantino (FG)
ITALY
