Translation Please Romano & Niglio

Post by sinatra101 »

Would like to get as much as possible especially any maiden names for parents. Also why are there 3 listings for the same people - Numbers 67, 68 & 69?

These are banns for marriage, that were posted up the door of the Town House. This had to be done three times before marriage, that's why you find three records. Some other times, you might find one record, with dates of publications as an annotation.
On the first publication, they also provided the necessary documents, that you would find in Allegati, if they were available.
Nicola Romano, 26 years, labourer, born and living in Pollica; son of Mauro, labourer and of the deceased Angela Cona (?); he was born on December 12th, 1842.
Caterina Niglio, 37 years, labourer, born and living in Pollica; daughter of the deceased Nicola and Mariagiuseppa Niglio (here, it is not clear if Mariagiuseppa's maiden name was Niglio, or here is mentioned by husband's surname); she was born on September 30th, 1832.
